Promises from Christ

If you are baptized by water and receive the Holy Spirit, you will enter the kingdom of God.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be aborn of bwater and of the cSpirit, he cannot denter into the kingdom of God.

If you value temporal things, spiritual strength will dwindle.

Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That aman shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

If you repent, the spirit will be with you.

Mark 1:15 And saying, The atime is fulfilled, and the bkingdom of God cis at handdrepent ye, and ebelieve the gospel.

There are many examples in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John of promises Jesus has made us. It is important for us to try to follow our Savior. He knows what is best for us and has a fulfilling plan of happiness for everyone. Within my class discussions this week, there was an overall message to have faith and follow what Jesus has taught us. The gospel is simple in these terms, and that makes me excited to learn more. The scriptures above are great examples of what we can do to have eternal blessings in our lives. We can search the scriptures and find simple promises from our Lord.

Consider some of these questions when reading scriptures and remembering the Savior…

What are some blessings that you have seen fulfilled because you have followed some of Jesus’ teachings?

Do you find it hard to have faith to follow the Savior, even when you don’t have all of life’s answers?

What do you do to feed your body spiritually?

What do you do to try and feel the spirit more often?

How does the Atonement help you to keep the spirit?

I love knowing that I have the choice to follow my Savior in faith. He has a perfect, unconditional love for us. Because of this love, he has given us all the information we need to be spiritually fulfilled and happy within our circumstances. I know that faith is a strong force that can be a tool to keep the spirit with us and help us act on our Lord’s promises. I challenge you to look for promises from our Savior next time you are searching the scriptures. Look for ways that you can feel close to Him and that you can receive blessings for yourself. Doing this can help you feel his love for you and bring a spirit of peace into your life. I find it hard to have bind faiths sometimes, but when I read scriptures that tell me of blessings that I have already experienced, then I feel closer to Christ.
